Spain’s Fimi Children’s Fashion Show recently showcased its 99th edition at Feria Valencia with a revamped “Summer Showroom” concept, attracting buyers from over 30 countries. The event emphasized digital tools and adapting to global market demands, solidifying its position as a key international hub for Spanish kidswear.
The new showroom-style format focused on product visibility, catering to international buyers’ preferences. Show director Alicia Gimeno highlighted the event’s evolution to meet the needs of a global audience, aiming for a more direct presentation of brands and products.
Among the successful exhibitors was The Boston Kids, part of the Mayoral Group, which introduced a 39-piece capsule collection targeting fun and sporty styles. The strategic timing of the event aligned with global trade shows like Pitti Bimbo, enhancing the brands’ exposure to international buyers.
El Pulpo Kids also made a mark with its Teen line debut, receiving positive feedback from high-quality buyers in key markets. The event’s organizers identified a market gap for Teen fashion, encouraging brands to diversify their offerings to meet evolving consumer preferences.
Established players like Rapife, Foque, and Play Up commended the professionalism of international visitors, highlighting Spanish kidswear’s strengths in quality, sustainability, and design. The event’s streamlined layout facilitated productive interactions and meaningful discussions between exhibitors and buyers.
Noteworthy at this edition was the integration of a digital appointment system, enhancing the scheduling and coordination of meetings between brands and buyers. The platform received positive feedback from 92% of exhibitors, streamlining communication and optimizing business interactions.
The Fimi Kids Fashion Week runway show featured eight brands presenting sustainable and casual collections inspired by a beach theme. The event witnessed an 8% increase in professional visitors compared to the previous year, with a growing international footprint attracting buyers from 30 countries.
Exports currently contribute significantly to the Spanish children’s fashion industry revenue, with Europe leading the market demand. However, there is a rising interest from markets like the United States, Mexico, and Asia, indicating the industry’s expanding global reach and appeal.
Organized by Feria Valencia and Asepri, with support from Icex and Ivace, Fimi is gearing up for its next edition in 2026, focusing on kidswear, footwear, childcare products, and toys. The event aims to enhance its international presence, continuing to serve as a pivotal meeting point for the industry.
