When I first laid eyes on Rome in The Lizzie McGuire Movie, I was captivated by its charm and history. Recently, I had the chance to explore the Eternal City myself, immersing in its pasta, vintage shops, and iconic landmarks. Despite a tight schedule, I managed to cover a lot in just a few days, guided by online recommendations and my own sense of adventure.
One of the most memorable aspects of my trip was staying at J.K. Place Roma, a boutique hotel in Campo Marzio. Designed by Michele Bönan, the hotel exuded elegance with its custom furnishings and intimate ambiance. The staff’s warmth, coupled with delectable meals at JKCafe, made my stay truly exceptional. The hotel’s collaboration with nearby luxury stores like Prada and Valentino added a special touch for fashion enthusiasts.

My shopping escapades led me to Monti, where vintage stores like Blue Goose and Pifebo offered a treasure trove of unique finds. While I indulged in affordable chic pieces, the area around Via Condotti beckoned with high-end designer boutiques like Gucci and Prada, catering to diverse fashion tastes.
Exploring Rome’s culinary scene was a gastronomic delight. Trattoria Lungaretta in Trastevere impressed me with its savory carbonara and espresso martinis. For a taste of Sicilian cuisine, Giano at W Rome stood out with its renowned pasta dishes. From hole-in-the-wall eateries to fine dining establishments, Rome’s food offerings catered to every palate.

For relaxation, a visit to Palazzo Fiuggi, an award-winning wellness and medical spa outside Rome, offered a rejuvenating experience. The spa’s Thalassotherapy and Hydrotherapy 3-Step Ritual provided a perfect blend of Western medicine and Oriental practices, endorsed by none other than Oprah Winfrey.

While Rome is not typically associated with event hosting, Castello di Tor Crescenza on the city’s outskirts provided a stunning venue for special occasions. I had the privilege of attending a bridal event at the castle, showcasing exquisite collections amidst its grandeur and picturesque surroundings.
From fashion-forward accommodations to vintage shopping gems and culinary delights, Rome offers a rich tapestry of experiences for the modern traveler. Whether seeking relaxation or indulging in haute couture, the Eternal City caters to diverse tastes, blending history with contemporary allure.
